Client is a nation-wide design/build sustainability contractor. We audit, design, and install building envelope, solar, smart metering technology, lighting, water efficiency and e-mobility projects for Energy Services Companies (ESCO’s) focused in the K-12, higher Ed, municipality and commercial vertical markets.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with solar industry experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in electrical design, estimation, and computer-aided design (CAD). As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing electrical systems for solar projects. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of solar energy projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical System Design: Designing electrical systems for solar energy projects, including solar PV arrays, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and associated equipment.
  2. Electrical Estimation: Preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical components and systems, considering material costs, labor requirements, and project specifications.
  3. CAD Utilization: Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts.
  4. Compliance and Standards: Ensuring compliance with local, national, and industry-specific electrical codes and standards.
  5. Technical Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, equipment lists, and test reports.
  6. Project Collaboration: Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including project managers, solar engineers, and construction personnel, to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Experience: Experience working in the solar industry, specifically in electrical engineering roles.
  3. Electrical Design: Strong proficiency in electrical system design for solar projects, including system sizing, equipment selection, and layout planning.
  4. Estimation Skills: Ability to accurately estimate electrical costs for solar projects based on project requirements and industry standards.
  5. CAD Proficiency: Proficient in using CAD software (such as AutoCAD or similar tools) for creating and modifying electrical drawings and schematics.
  6. Knowledge of Electrical Codes and Standards: Familiarity with local, national, and industry-specific electrical codes and standards related to solar energy projects.
  7. Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work.
