Vice President of Sales – ESCO
Western Region Focus – California Remote
Client is a is a full-service facility planning, design, and energy management company dedicated to creating healthy, efficient work environments. Our team provides deep knowledge and experience in all aspects of facility planning from the building envelope to mechanical systems, central plants, energy efficiency, lighting systems and building controls.
Reporting directly to the Business Unit President, the VP of Sales will inherit a high-performing sales team and be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen client relationships across California and the Western U.S. Focused on facility infrastructure, this role requires a business-minded seasoned sales leader with deep experience in energy efficiency, performance contracting, and sustainability solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement an aggressive sales growth strategy aligned with West business unit goals.
- Identify new business opportunities in ESCO markets, including performance contracting, energy efficiency retrofits, and renewable energy solutions.
Team Management:
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of sales professionals to achieve individual and team targets.
- Establish clear KPIs and performance metrics for the sales organization.
Client Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in applicable sectors.
Market Development:
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and utility incentive programs in California and the West.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Progressive sales leadership experience in ESCO, energy efficiency, EaaS, construction, engineering or related performance-based contracts industries.
- Financial Literacy – understanding of our P&L and financial processes.
- Strong understanding of California specific energy regulations, utility programs, and sustainability initiatives related to the ESCO industry.
- Existing experience within the public sector/MUSH space…state & local municipalities, higher ed, K-12.
- Ability to educate and provide customers with comprehensive energy solutions.
- Experience with performance contracting and energy savings guarantees.
- Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and financing models.
