Client is a boutique, highly respected, full-service energy management company backed by private investors, focused on the public sector vertical markets. We design, and implement unique decarbonization projects/programs for buildings which combine energy retrofits, infrastructure upgrades, and distributed energy generation through energy savings performance contracts.

Position Summary – Reporting directly to the founder and CEO, the VP of sales will have overall responsibility of the Sales Department. The VP will be a business-minded seasoned sales leader who partners with the CEO and other executives to successfully lead, grow and develop the sales team. Equity participation offered.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop overall sales and marketing strategies to obtain our mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Implement strategic processes and procedures to track and ensure goals are met.
  • Lead a trusting team culture to win over customers and provide creative solutions. As needed, train and assist the Sales Team during the sales process.
  • Key contact for high level customer issues as needed to resolve and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Report on progress and status of sales opportunities to Board members and Executive Team.
  • Present project solutions and benefits to customers at all responsibility levels including staff, department heads, board members, council members, mayors, etc.
  • Occasional overnight travel is required to educate and present solutions to potential customers.
  • Other projects assigned.

Experience:

  • Progressive experience in the energy service industry (ESCO) and related performance base contracts.
  • Experience developing and selling solar, building automation, lighting and control projects.
  • Understand California specific industry rules and regulations related to the ESCO industry.
  • Existing relationships/experience with municipalities and the public schools’ market within the California market.
  • Ability to educate and provide customers with comprehensive energy solutions.
