Vice President of Operations – Energy Projects

THE ROLE: Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Operations will serve as the overall team leader, managing operations and development teams across a portfolio of energy projects. The responsibilities will encompass overseeing all phases of the projects…involving a combination of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy installations, benefiting cities, schools, municipalities, and other customers by promoting sustainability and cost savings. As a key partner with the sales team, you’ll be involved from early development through construction.
The role will also involve participating in customer presentations as well as managing and creating processes that will help qualify subcontractors and creating cost-effective solutions.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership by managing direct reports’ development plans, business goals, and performance reviews.
- Assess and manage workload and resource allocation, including hiring necessary manpower for the annual plan.
- Maintain relationships with key customers, managing expectations and satisfaction through direct reports to ensure timely and effective work execution.
Construction Management
- Supervise the construction operations team, providing leadership to ensure execution meets customer and projects needs and contributes to business plan achievement.
- Maintain margin levels and revenue volume, develop cost-to-complete and recovery plans for all projects, and manage projects’ cash flow.
- Oversee teams working with AHJ, DSA, and utility special inspections to ensure permit sign-offs.
- Collaborate with Procurement, manage warranty and non-project related accounts.
- Supervise the development team, providing leadership to ensure development meets customer needs.
- Support sales efforts directly or through construction and development personnel.
- Assist and participate in annual business planning processes.
Absolutes:
- Degree in Engineering or related construction/operations experience
- Experience managing energy-related projects (solar/microgrid/battery storage/energy efficiency)
