The Senior MEP Engineer is an experienced engineer responsible for evaluating and designing building systems and equipment and occasionally operation improvement and energy efficiency or, and cost reduction projects and programs for customers’ buildings and facilities. This role is responsible for completing all design information on a project and may also have some supervisory responsibility for other project team members.
- Project Leadership and Development
ü Lead the design of building systems and equipment for operational improvement and energy conservation projects. The design team may include several engineers/developers
ü Review architectural, mechanical, or electrical plans to evaluate energy efficiency and/or feasibility
ü Manage and lead the development of complex energy conservation and operational improvement projects, including multiple engineers/developers on a single project

- Technical Evaluation and Design
ü Review architectural, mechanical, or electrical plans to evaluate energy efficiency and/or feasibility
ü Analyze building systems to determine loads, appropriate operating conditions, and code compliance using industry-standard calculations and software
ü Evaluate construction design information like drawings, design calculations, system layouts, and sketches
ü Visit job sites to collect data for development of designs that lead to improved operation, energy savings, and occupant comfort
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting
ü Develop construction project budgets and timelines that meet project objectives and ensure that project components are in line with federal and state laws or other regulations
- Education and experience
Bachelor’s (B.S.) degree in engineering with 5+ years of experience as a project developer/engineer, designing and developing similar type projects.
Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in Texas
Key Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient in the practical application of mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, fractions, percentages, and ratios
- Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
- Proven ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and applying to practical problem solving
