Client is a full-service energy efficiency company backed by private equity, focused on the commercial and public sector (MUSH) markets. Client designs, finances, and implements decarbonization projects/programs for buildings which combine energy retrofits, infrastructure upgrades (ESPC/ESA/EaaS) and distributed energy generation with ongoing utility management, maintenance, and building monitoring/control services.
Position Summary – This high-profile role reports directly to the VP of Engineering. The Senior Energy Solutions Engineer leads a project team that identifies and calculates energy and water conservation savings. The engineer also manages the development of scope, price, incentives, tax implications, and savings for clients. The candidate must be goal-driven and use a team approach to develop innovative projects. Candidates who can balance engineering knowledge and experience, creative solutions, and thorough and comprehensive problem-solving abilities will be successful.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct on-site assessments in prospective buildings
• Develop engineering solutions to help clients achieve financial, technical, operational, and environmental goals
• ASHRAE Level III and preconstruction experience
• Perform and/or manage assessments from inception to contract
• Calculate energy & water savings
• Define scopes and pricing for energy conservation measures
• Prepare sales proposal content
• Assist in the client facing sales presentation
• Assist construction in commissioning of all the installed solutions
• Mentor engineering team in subject matter expertise

Qualifications:
• 4-year degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering or equivalent
• Preferred one or more technology and industry certifications (CEM, CEA, CMVP, LEED/AP etc.)

Experience:
• Demonstrated experience in performing savings calculations for energy upgrades
• Utility bill auditing / Securing incentives and grants
• Defining scopes of energy conservation measures
• Estimation of annual energy savings / High-level Excel experience
• Advanced knowledge of energy modelling/best practices/codes (ASHRAE, IESNA, NEC etc.)

Skills:
• Ability to work effectively across a large geographic and diverse customer portfolio
• Up-to-date knowledge of energy efficiency technologies
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical & HVAC, Building Automation System, electrical & lighting
• Ability to travel and perform after hours work on occasion when needed
