Our client is a premier Sacramento Design/Build HVAC, plumbing, and piping mechanical contractor with over 60 years of expertise in the built environment.

We are looking to add a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design/build engineering and pre-construction efforts for a wide range of projects in Northern California and the Central Valley. Reporting to the Vice President, you will be leading/growing a team and interfacing with senior managers and clients.  Your  collaboration will begin at initial conception and extend through commissioning and completion. The Senior Mechanical Engineer works alongside dynamic and seasoned teams that estimate, coordinate, manage, and build projects in a collaborative environment.

Talent Required:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanical Professional Engineering Registration
  • Experience working on HVAC, plumbing, and piping design for commercial and/or industrial projects
  • Ability to work with pre-construction and estimating teams to conceptualize design solutions
  • Lead engineering project teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budgets
  • Knowledge of state/local building codes, California Title 24, and Cal Green Codes
  • Understanding of energy management systems and control strategies for HVAC systems, including experience correlating mechanical system design with energy management system design/operation
  • LEED accreditation or strong knowledge of LEED requirements
  • Experience working in collaborative project delivery processes including design/build and design/assist
  • Ability to mentor and guide the junior engineering staff

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project design teams and manage project design schedules
  • Quality assurance for mechanical designs and documentation
  • Develop creative and innovative solutions to solve complex engineering challenges
  • Represent company in meetings with clients, owners, and other project team members
  • Develop construction drawings using 2D drafting and 3D modeling
  • Oversee Engineering team members
  • Support the pre-construction and estimating teams to budget/price conceptualized designs

Preferred software experience:

  • Revit – 3D Mechanical Systems Modeling/AutoCAD – 2D Drafting
  • CDS Trace 700 – Building Load Calculations and Energy Modeling
  • EnergyPro – Building Energy Modeling/Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
