Director of Energy Market Analytics

We specialize in wholesale and retail energy markets, distributed energy resource development, decarbonization planning, and utility cost management.
Role Description – We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Energy Market Analytics to lead our energy market & utility rate analytics team and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role is pivotal in shaping our strategic direction through insightful analysis and innovative solutions. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing departmental strategy and vision, overseeing execution of customer deliverables, participating in customer engagements, and building departmental capabilities. The ideal candidate will provide high level expertise and thought leadership in the areas of energy markets, utility rates and tariffs, energy commodity products, and energy sustainability and renewable products.
Duties
- Lead and manage the market analytics team.
- Provide broad expertise to support client engagements in the area of retail energy markets, utility rate and tariff analytics, and renewable energy and decarbonization. Including… developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of retail energy market structures, management deployment of national utility rate modeling capability to support rate and tariff switching analysis and oversee the ongoing development, maintenance and operation of renewable resource valuation and modeling capabilities.
Skills & Experience
- Energy experience in analytical functions, with significant experience in retail energy markets.
- Experience with and knowledge in utility rates and tariffs and renewable energy and decarbonization products.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in energy markets/products, including working with sophisticated energy end users.
- Technical skills to support work with large data sets, including knowledge of SQL, Python/R, etc.
