Construction Services Manager – Energy Services

The Construction Service Manager plays a critical role in the planning, development, and estimation of Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC) projects within the organization. This individual is responsible for leveraging their expertise to analyze project requirements, develop cost estimates, provide constructability review, co-develop project scope and bidding documents, identify subcontractors, develop preliminary project schedules, and contribute to the overall project development process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements, including scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project developers, engineers, and project managers to ensure alignment on project development and cost estimation.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and contingencies related to project development and costing.
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for projects, considering materials, labor, and other relevant factors.
  • Co-develop project scoping/bid documents supporting proposal requests from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Identification and prequalification of perspective subcontractors and vendors based on project needs.
  • Review and evaluate proposals based on criteria, identification of deficiencies.
  • Facilitate subcontractor and vendor negotiations and issue resolution.
  • Prepare/maintain detailed documentation related to project development and estimation activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry experience including project development responsibilities.
  • Excellent understanding and operation of MEP Systems and general building knowledge.
  • Proven experience in project development, cost estimation, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contract language, procedures, and tactics required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency using estimation tools/software such as RS Means Estimating Platform is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of contract law, codes, standards, and industry construction knowledge required.
  • Understanding of the ESCO K-12, higher education, and/or municipality projects is a plus.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% + or as needed to support the project teams.
  • Must successfully pass drug screen & background check.
