Client is a leading global independent Energy-as-a-Service provider, backed by private equity, offering energy savings assessments, guaranteed savings and funding solutions. Client designs, finances, and implements decarbonization projects/programs for buildings which combine energy retrofits, infrastructure upgrades (ESPC/ESA/EaaS) and distributed energy generation with ongoing utility management, maintenance, and building monitoring/control services. 

Position Summary – Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Engineer to join our team to play a pivotal role in advancing energy efficiency innovation and incentives. As Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving energy efficiency initiatives by developing and implementing innovative strategies for incentives, innovation and grants programs. This role requires skills in energy-saving calculations, custom incentive development, and innovative engineering solutions. The preferred candidate will have experience developing Energy Performance Incentives for an ESCO or related company. 

Responsibilities:

  • Energy Efficiency Engineering Calculations: Proficient in energy and water efficiency savings calculations for supporting incentive applications.
  • Performance Engineering: Conduct in-depth performance analysis of energy efficiency project to maximize & secure custom incentives.
  • Incentive Program Development: Develop and refine incentive programs to stimulate energy & water efficiency investments, focusing on cost-effectiveness, energy & water savings and environmental impact for guaranteed performance contracts.
  • Energy Performance Engineering:  Conduct site visits for energy assessments for ASHRAE level I, II and III energy assessments when necessary to support the engineering team and set up an M & V plan for incentives.
  • Supporting Sales: Subject Matter Expert that consults on opportunities to enhance customer proposals.
  • Innovation and Research: Stay updated on emerging energy efficiency technologies and industry trends and identify opportunities for innovative solutions.
  • Incentive Process Improvement: through the development of new tools, technologies, methodologies, and strategies for energy performance assessments.

Experience & Skills:

  • Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Energy Engineering or related field) required.
  • Experience in energy efficiency preferably ESCO industry, with a strong focus on program design, energy performance engineering, incentive calculation and implementation.
  • Development & Implementation experience of custom incentives for energy and water efficiency projects.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing incentive and grant programs.
