POSITION SCOPE – Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, the Solar and Storage Project Director will be responsible for the successful hiring, development and day-to-day management of the solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) staff. With a hands-on approach, you ensure that all solar and BESS projects are developed to high standards.
You will manage the complete design, development, and assist Project Management during construction for solar PV and BESS projects by:
- Planning and making decisions regarding growth of the solar and BESS development team and their capabilities.
- Recruiting and hiring new solar and BESS staff.
- Successfully delivering solar and BESS projects that meet or exceed the energy savings and generation associated with these projects.
- Participating in and supervising all solar and BESS development related activities, including scope of work, design, commissioning, and measurement and verification (M&V).
- Providing leadership, including training and mentorship, to enable career growth of new solar and BESS staff.
- Actively participating in project development, including, taking the lead in building and enhancing customer relationships, work hard to develop our customers trust, give proposal presentations, actively network, etc.
- Directly performing on-site solar and BESS audits, engineering, energy calculations and design projects.
- Engaging and developing relationships with design engineering sub-consultants and actively managing sub-consultant agreements.
The core components of success are (must haves):
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Electrical, Renewables, or Mechanical disciplines
- Experience in Solar Development or construction of renewable energy systems.
- Experience using Solar Design and Modeling Software – Preferred Helioscope, Energy ToolBase, and or PV Syst.
- Valid Driver’s License, must pass drug and background check.
