Client is one of the most respected energy services companies in the U.S., they utilizes design-build and performance-based contracting and Public Private Partnership (P3) vehicles to deliver energy and maintenance savings and significant infrastructure upgrades to existing facilities. Clients Sustainability Services group offers a full suite of sustainable design consulting services, including energy auditing, commissioning and retro-commissioning, energy & daylighting analysis, LEED certification consulting, and sustainability master planning.

We have an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer, to manage the C&I/MUSH/Fed development efforts to include; Energy as a Service, Microgrids, Battery Storage, Solar, VPP. 

Essential Skill Requirements:

  • Support the development, testing and implementation of microgrid control solutions around solar photovoltaic, battery energy storage solutions, diesel/natural gas generators and other distributed energy resources (DER’s) utilizing HON’s Experion controller, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s), multi-function protection relays, and concentrators from major OEM’s.
  • Support efforts to optimize distributed energy generation systems design, output, basis of design, physical site layout and site access.
  • Thorough understanding of microgrid concepts, including islanding operation, grid-connected operation, energy management, control strategies, and power flow management within a microgrid system.
  • Thorough understanding of microgrid control systems and automation technologies, such as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, energy management systems (EMS), Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), HMIs, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs)
  • Knowledge of power electronics and their application in renewable energy systems and microgrids, including inverters, converters, and other power electronic devices to interface and control DER’s.
  • Experience with protection & control design concepts, including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring, etc.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience in power distribution controls applications
  • Understanding of Microgrid operations
  • Understanding of DER’s (PV, BESS, and Generators)
  • Travel 25%
  • PE License
  • US Citizen
